About Terry Taylor

Early Passion for Nursing
From volunteering in hospitals as a young girl to serving as a seasoned nurse practitioner, my journey has always been driven by a singular passion: to empower and heal. Those early days, changing bed linens and comforting patients, sparked a dedication that led me to nursing school and eventually to becoming a nurse practitioner. I’ve cherished the autonomy it gives me to make a direct impact on people's lives.

A Personal Relationship with Mental Health
My connection to mental health is both personal and profound. I have experienced the realities of panic attacks firsthand and supported my son through his struggles with severe anxiety and insomnia. These experiences don’t just inform my empathy, they shape how I practice. In 2022, I returned to school to specialize in psychiatric mental health, which resulted in dual board certification.
Focused on Adult Psychiatry and Complex Mood Disorders
I bring a unique perspective to treating complex mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and schizoaffective conditions. These challenges interest me not just because they are complex, but because each individual’s story is distinct. My practice also includes care for anxiety, depression, insomnia, OCD, ADHD, and PTSD, providing a truly comprehensive approach for adults.
Compassion as a Clinical Foundation
In founding Nomadic Behavioral Health, my goal is to bring the compassion and attentiveness I developed through decades in nursing into every patient encounter. This is more than a clinic. It is a place where your story is heard and your care is personal.
Mission: Empowerment, Education, and Advocacy
My mission is clear: to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and personalized mental health care of the highest quality. Education is a key part of how I work. I believe in empowering patients to understand their mental health, build resilience, and work toward lasting wellness.

Who is Nomadic Behavioral Health?
Nomadic Behavioral Health is owned by me and supported behind the scenes by my husband. He manages all of the administrative and operational work - claims, billing, marketing, IT, security, social media, insurance verification, vendor coordination, finances, bookkeeping, taxes, credentialing, contracts, website updates, and everything else that keeps the practice running smoothly. He likes to make it sound like an enormous undertaking..
... there probably was more, but to be honest, I stopped listening.
Why Nomadic?
The name reflects who we are. I have always had a wandering spirit and I start to feel restless if I stay in one place too long. My husband and I love to travel, explore historic sites, try new foods, and find great cake and ice cream wherever we go. The word Nomadic captures that sense of movement, curiosity, and exploration. It reminds us that growth comes from experiencing new places and perspectives, and that same mindset carries into the way we approach care at Nomadic Behavioral Health.

Sometimes, it is the simple things in life which can make you happy. This was a great dinner, jacket potato, beans, fish fingers and a small salad.

Our guilty pleasure - English scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Floki is waiting to see you!
Now that you know a bit about me, I look forward to learning about you. Your story matters, and I appreciate the chance to be part of your journey.
